The Resia torrent runs through the valley. The nearest ski lifts are at Sella Nevea, about 25 km away by mountain road. The nearest town of some size with fuller services is Gemona del Friuli. The area is known for its isolated Alpine valley setting and for the distinct Resian linguistic and cultural tradition.
