The cluster sits in the Amaseno valley at the foot of the Lepini Mountains. The Amaseno river runs through this area, and the Monti Lepini are the main landscape feature within reach. To the west and northwest the Lepini rise as a limestone pre-Apennine range with olive groves, pasture and forest on the slopes. Monti Ausoni e Lago di Fondi Regional Park lies nearby on the southern side of the same hill system, though the core protected areas are not centered on Amaseno itself. The nearest larger town is Frosinone, which provides the main rail, road, hospital and retail services for the province; Terracina and the Pontine plain are also practical reference points for services and coast access. The area is known locally for buffalo farming and mozzarella production in the Amaseno valley, and for the hill towns along the Lepini chain such as Priverno, Maenza and Sezze.
