Pavia is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre, the Certosa a little farther north, and the services of a provincial capital. This part of Oltrepò Pavese is known mainly for agriculture and for the approach to the wine hills farther south, but those hills are outside the immediate landscape here.
