Lake Trasimeno lies within about 15 km to the north-west from this part of Piegaro territory. The area is close to the Monte Peglia and Selva di Meana protected area, recognised by UNESCO as a MAB biosphere reserve. Città della Pieve is the nearest town of note, with a substantial historic centre on a hill; Castiglione del Lago on Lake Trasimeno is also nearby. The area is known for quiet inland Umbrian countryside and for hill towns between the Trasimeno basin and the upper Tiber-Chiana side.
