The cluster is in the tuff and agricultural country north of Rome, inside the Parco di Veio, with wooded ravines, fields and low volcanic hills. The Cremera valley and the Monte Soratte and Sabatini volcanic area shape the wider landscape nearby. Lake Martignano and Lake Bracciano lie within daily driving distance but are outside the immediate 15 km landscape. Rome is the nearest major city, with the services and monuments of a capital, but the setting here is on its outer rural side rather than in open mountain or coastal scenery. The area is known for the Veii archaeological landscape and for farmland and estates on the Roman countryside.
