This is in the built-up northern outskirts of Rome, in the Tiber basin with low volcanic and tuff hills around the city. The Tiber is the main river of the area. Within about 15 km are the northern urban districts of Rome with the full services of a major capital city, but the surroundings are mainly roads, suburbs and discontinuous peri-urban green space rather than a distinct rural or natural landscape.
