The cluster is in the Susa Valley with the Graian and Cottian Alps closing the horizon on both sides. The Dora Riparia runs along the valley floor. The Orsiera-Rocciavrè Natural Park is nearby on the south side of the valley. The nearest ski areas are on the upper Susa Valley around Chiomonte, Sauze d'Oulx and Bardonecchia, reached by a substantial mountain-valley drive rather than from the village itself. Susa is the nearest town of size, with a Roman gate and arch, the cathedral and the hilltop Sacra di San Michele farther east above the valley. This part of the valley is known for its Alpine setting, historic route to the Moncenisio and Monginevro passes, and for the Sacra di San Michele.
