Rustico in Corio

The cluster lies at the mouth of the Valli di Lanzo, where the first Alpine relief rises from the Canavese plain. The Graian Alps are the mountain backdrop within this radius, with wooded lower slopes and ridges above the built villages. The Stura di Lanzo runs through the nearby valleys. Lanzo Torinese is the nearest town of some size, with rail connection toward Turin and the normal services of a valley town. Turin is the main city used for higher-level services and work commuting, but it lies beyond the immediate landscape. This part of the Canavese is known for the transition from plain to pre-Alpine valleys and for hiking and summer second-home villages in the Lanzo valleys.
