Much of the surrounding high ground falls within the Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso on the Valle Orco side and the protected alpine terrain of the upper Lanzo valleys is directly nearby. The nearest ski lifts are the small lifts at Pian Benot above Usseglio, roughly a half-hour drive depending on snow and road conditions. Ceres is the nearest small service town down-valley, while Lanzo Torinese is the main town of the valleys with shops, schools and rail links toward Turin. This area is known for alpine valley scenery, hiking, climbing and summer access to high passes and refuges.
