Quadrilocale a Sant'Agata Fossili, Sant'Agata Fossili

The cluster lies in the Borbera valley in the Ligurian Apennines, with wooded ridges and narrow side valleys within the immediate area. The Borbera river runs through the valley. Around this part of south-eastern Alessandria the landscape is mostly a low mountain valley of woods, pasture and scattered hamlets rather than a plain. Arquata Scrivia and the Scrivia corridor are the nearest larger centres, with everyday services and rail links toward Genoa and Piedmont. The area is known locally for the Val Borbera and for summer use of the river stretches.
