The Soana torrent runs through the valley below. This area is inside Gran Paradiso National Park, which covers the upper valleys here and the high mountains on the Piedmont side of the massif. The nearest ski lifts are the small facilities at Alpe Cialma above Locana, roughly 25–35 minutes by road, while the larger resort system of Ceresole Reale is farther up the Orco valley.
