Baita in Ribordone

The cluster is in the Graian Alps, in the upper Soana valley side, with steep forested slopes and high alpine relief immediately around it. The Soana torrent runs through the valley below. This area is inside Gran Paradiso National Park, which covers the upper valleys here and the high mountains on the Piedmont side of the massif. The nearest ski lifts are the small facilities at Alpe Cialma above Locana, roughly 25–35 minutes by road, while the larger resort system of Ceresole Reale is farther up the Orco valley. The nearest town of some size is Cuorgnè, which has the main day-to-day services for this part of the Canavese. The area is known for alpine walking, wildlife linked to the Gran Paradiso park, and stone mountain villages of the Canavese valleys.
