Terratetto plurifamiliare in Ottiglio

This is the Monferrato hill country, with ridges of vineyards, woods and small farmed valleys. The Po is north of here, and the Tanaro runs farther south, but the immediate setting is inland hills rather than a riverbank. Casale Monferrato is the nearest larger town, with services, rail connections and a substantial historic centre. The wider area is known for wine landscapes and wine production, especially Barbera and Grignolino. Parts of Monferrato are included in the UNESCO wine landscape listing of Langhe-Roero and Monferrato, with the core zones in the wider district rather than in every village.
