The area is part of the Pinerolese mountain valleys, with steep wooded slopes, high side valleys and alpine ground above the villages. The nearest ski area is Prali, at the head of the valley, about a 20 minute drive from Perrero. Pinerolo is the nearest larger town, about 30 km away, with full services and rail links. This part of the valley is known for its Waldensian history and for the old talc mines around Prali.
