The cluster sits in the Valli di Lanzo, with the Graian Alps around the valley and the upper valley rising toward peaks on the French border. The Stura di Lanzo runs through this part of the valley. Ceres is one of the main small centres of the Val Grande di Lanzo, with everyday services and the Torino–Ceres rail link toward the plain. The nearest larger town is Lanzo Torinese, and Turin is the main city for higher-order services. This area is known for alpine valley settlements, hiking and summer access into the Lanzo valleys.
