This is the flat agricultural plain between Turin and Pinerolo, in the Po basin at the foot of the Cottian Alps, which are visible to the west but outside the immediate landscape. The Chisone valley begins around Pinerolo, the nearest larger town, which provides the usual services, schools, hospital and rail links toward Turin. The area is known for farming and horse breeding on the plain.
