The Stura di Lanzo runs through this part of the plain. The nearest substantial town is Turin, which provides the main rail links, airport and city services. Venaria Reale with the Reggia di Venaria, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is nearby on the Turin side of the area. This is the transition between the Turin plain and the first Alpine valleys, known for daily links into the Lanzo area and for access toward the Valli di Lanzo.
