The Po plain and orchards around Cavour are the everyday landscape, and the Pellice and lower Chisone valleys begin nearby. The Po rises at Pian del Re above Crissolo, but that is outside the immediate 15 km landscape. Pinerolo is the nearest larger town, with a full range of shops, schools and services and a rail link toward Turin. Cavour is known locally for the Rocca di Cavour, an isolated wooded hill on the plain protected as a natural reserve, and for fruit growing in the surrounding plain.
