This is part of the Pinerolese mountain area with larch woods, high pastures and small alpine hamlets, and the road continues up-valley toward the Prali ski area; the nearest lifts are around Prali, roughly 15 km away by road. Within the same valley are the Waldensian settlements for which this part of the western Turin Alps is known. The nearest larger town with substantial services is Pinerolo, down in the plain.
