The Po plain and orchards around Cavour are the everyday landscape, and the Pellice and lower Chisone valleys begin nearby. Pinerolo is the nearest larger town, with a full range of shops, schools and services and a rail link toward Turin. Cavour is known locally for the Rocca di Cavour, an isolated wooded hill on the plain protected as a natural reserve, and for fruit growing in the surrounding plain.
