Location score 73/100The cluster is in the Val Chisone in the Cottian Alps, with steep wooded slopes rising directly from the valley and higher alpine terrain up-valley toward Fenestrelle and Sestriere. The Chisone river runs through the valley. The Orsiera-Rocciavrè Natural Park lies nearby on the south side of the valley. The nearest ski areas are up the valley around Pragelato and Sestriere, roughly 30 to 45 minutes by car depending on the lift base. Pinerolo is the nearest larger town, with rail connections, hospitals, supermarkets and secondary schools. Fenestrelle, with the Forte di Fenestrelle, is up the same valley and is one of the main historic landmarks of the area. The area is known for alpine valleys, winter sports up-valley, and the Waldensian history of the western Torinese valleys.
