The Monviso area is protected by the Parco del Monviso and includes the Monviso UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The nearest substantial town is Saluzzo, which has a preserved historic centre and services; Cuneo and the Turin plain are farther east. This area is known for the upper Po valley, views toward Monviso, and the stone quarrying around Monte Bracco.
