This is the flat agricultural plain south of Turin, between the Po and its tributary system, with fields, irrigation canals and scattered farmsteads as the dominant landscape. The Po runs a few kilometres north of Carmagnola, and the area is known for market gardening and peppers from Carmagnola. Turin is the nearest large city and provides the full range of services, rail connections and airport access.
