The Chisone valley and the mountain slopes around it are the immediate landscape, with high Alpine relief on all sides. The Orsiera-Rocciavrè Natural Park lies nearby on the south side of the valley. Pragelato and Sestriere are the nearest winter-sports centres, with lifts reached by road in roughly 20–30 minutes depending on the exact hamlet. Pinerolo is the nearest larger town down valley, with the usual services and rail connections toward Turin. The area is known for Alpine villages, old military and cross-border routes toward the Fenestrelle and Montgenèvre sectors, and for ski terrain in the upper Chisone and neighbouring Susa valleys.
