Casa Indipendente

This is the flat Pinerolo plain between Turin and the first Cottian Alps, with open agricultural land and irrigation channels. The Po runs a few kilometres to the north of Scalenghe, and the Chisone valley opens west toward Pinerolo and the mountains. Pinerolo is the nearest substantial town, with a full service centre, a historic core and rail links toward Turin. Turin is part of daily life for work and services but lies outside the immediate landscape. The nearest ski areas are up the Chisone valley around Pragelato and Sestriere, roughly an hour or more by road, so they do not define the setting here. The area is known mainly for mixed farming on the plain.
