Terratetto plurifamiliare in Montalenghe

Mercenasco sits in the Canavese plain between Ivrea and the lower Alpine foothills. The Dora Baltea runs through this part of the province, with irrigated fields, canals and scattered villages across a flat agricultural landscape. Ivrea is the nearest town of size; it has a substantial historic centre and the industrial heritage linked to Olivetti, part of the UNESCO listing "Ivrea, industrial city of the 20th century." Toward the north and west the Alps close the horizon, but the main mountain valleys and ski lifts are outside the immediate 15 km landscape. This area is known locally for Canavese agriculture and for its position on the plain below the morainic hills of Ivrea.
