The cluster is in the Lanzo Valleys of the Graian Alps, with steep alpine slopes and high ridges immediately around the settlements. The Stura di Ala runs through this valley system. The area is part of the Valli di Lanzo mountain country that leads toward the French border and high alpine passes. The nearest ski terrain is the small Pian Benot area above Usseglio, roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive depending on the hamlet. Ceres is the nearest town of some size in the valleys, with basic services and the end of the Turin-Ceres rail corridor farther down-valley. The area is known for alpine pasture villages, hiking, climbing and traditional stone-and-wood mountain settlements.
