Fenestrelle and its fort are up-valley, and Pinerolo is the nearest larger town with full services and a rail connection toward Turin. The nearest ski areas are in the upper Val Chisone around Pragelato and Sestriere, reached by mountain road in roughly 35–50 minutes depending on the lift. This part of the valley is known for alpine woodland, side valleys and the historic route toward the Colle del Sestriere and the French border.
