The Chisone and Pellice rivers run down from those valleys into the plain near the town. The nearest ski lifts are in the upper Val Chisone around Pragelato and Sestriere, roughly an hour or more by road, so they are not part of the immediate landscape. Pinerolo is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre, services, schools and a rail link toward Turin. This area is known for its position between the Torinese plain and the western Alpine valleys, and for the historical Waldensian presence in the Val Pellice nearby.
