The Banna stream crosses the Poirino area. Chieri is the nearest larger town and has a substantial historic centre, services and rail links toward Turin. Turin is the main city for daily needs and work, and the hills around Chieri begin a few kilometres to the northwest, but the immediate 15 km landscape is mainly ordinary farmland.
