The Campo dei Fiori massif and the Varese Prealps are visible within the wider 15 km landscape to the north. The Parco Regionale Campo dei Fiori begins farther north around the Varese side and is not the immediate setting here. Varese is the nearest town of size, with a historic centre, services and rail links. Around Caronno Varesino the landscape is mixed woodland, small cultivated areas, scattered villages and roads tied to the Malpensa-Milan corridor. The area is known locally for vineyards and for the line of small prealpine foothill settlements in southern Varese province.
