The long beaches of Serapo and the coast toward Vindicio are part of the local shoreline. Gaeta has a substantial historic center split between the medieval quarter and the lower town, a fishing and port function, and the Angevin-Aragonese castle on the headland. The area is known for its coastal setting, military and maritime history, and the olive cultivar from the Gaeta area.
