The Tirso plain lies to the south and west, and the Gulf of Oristano coast is about 15 km away, with the Sinis peninsula and its beaches farther beyond. The Montiferru massif rises inland to the north-east and gives the area a more defined upland backdrop than the central Campidano plain. Oristano is the nearest town of size, with the main services, rail station and administrative functions for the province. This part of central-west Sardinia is known for citrus orchards, olive growing and small historic villages rather than for a single landmark inside the immediate radius.
