Rustico in Piove di Sacco

This is the flat lower Veneto plain between Padova and the Brenta-Bacchiglione drainage area, with a landscape of fields, canals and scattered settlements. The Brenta runs to the northeast and the southern edge of the Venetian Lagoon is within the wider area toward Chioggia, but the immediate surroundings are inland plain rather than coast. Padova is the nearest large city, with a major historic center, university and full services. The area is known for intensive agriculture and for being part of the settled plain linked to Padova and the lagoon hinterland.
