Casa autonoma terra-tetto

The cluster is in the Pescara valley at the point where the Maiella foothills begin, with the Morrone and Maiella massifs visible to the southwest within this part of inland Abruzzo. The Pescara River runs through Scafa and the valley is a settled corridor of small towns, roads and rail rather than open upland country. Maiella National Park begins a short distance inland on the mountain side, and the better-known high mountain landscapes are around Caramanico Terme and the park valleys beyond. The nearest substantial town is Pescara on the coast, while inland Popoli has rail services and everyday facilities. This part of the valley is known for olive groves, vineyards and access routes from the coast toward the interior of the Maiella.
