Location score 68/100The Ligurian Apennines are the immediate landscape here, with wooded valleys and higher ridges around Monte Ragola and the upper Nure basin. The Nure river runs through Ferriere and there are small mountain hamlets, passes and open ridge roads within the area. This is part of the Piacentine Apennines, an upland zone used for walking, summer stays and mushroom gathering. The nearest town of size is Piacenza, which provides the main rail station, services and urban amenities, but it is well outside the local mountain setting. The area is known in Emilia for cooler summer mountain country rather than for a single landmark site.
