The Meduna river runs a few kilometres west, and the gorge and reservoirs of the Valcellina are within this radius. Part of the surrounding mountain area falls in the Friulian Dolomites Natural Park, and the Friulian Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage area begins not far to the north-west.
