The nearest ski lifts are the small Forni di Sopra area, roughly an hour away by mountain roads, and Piancavallo farther south at about a similar drive, so skiing is not part of the immediate landscape. Spilimbergo is the nearest substantial town, with services and a known historic centre; Maniago is also within normal reach and is known for knife-making. This part of Friuli is known for pre-Alpine valleys, mixed forest, stone villages and outdoor activities on the Tagliamento and its tributaries.
