Immobile in Contrada Pietraferrata,Lauria

The cluster is in the southern Apennines, with the massif of Monte Sirino and the valleys around the Noce basin within the local landscape. The area is close to the western edge of Basilicata where the Appennino Lucano Val d'Agri Lagonegrese National Park covers much of the mountain country around Lauria. Lago Sirino lies above Nemoli, within about 15 km, and Monte Sirino has ski lifts around Conserva di Lauria, roughly a 20–30 minute drive depending on the starting point. Lauria itself is a small service town on the A2 corridor with a historic upper quarter and day-to-day shops and schools; Lagonegro is the other nearby centre of size. This part of Basilicata is known for wooded mountains, chestnut and beech slopes, and as the inland gateway between the Tyrrhenian side of Maratea and the Lucanian Apennines.
