The area is the lower Po plain, with flat agricultural land cut by canals and drainage works. The Adige runs just north of Rovigo and the Po is to the south, shaping the wider Polesine landscape. The Po Delta Regional Park begins farther east, outside the immediate surroundings, and the Adriatic coast is also farther away. Rovigo is the nearest town of size, with a compact historic centre, arcaded streets, piazzas, and the two surviving medieval towers of its former castle. The area is known for reclaimed lowland, farming, and the river landscape of the Polesine.
