Villa a schiera in Villanova Marchesana

The area lies in the lower Po plain beside the Po di Levante branch and the network of embanked waterways of the Polesine. This is flat agricultural country shaped by reclaimed land, canals and riverbanks. Adria is the nearest town of size, with everyday services and a museum linked to the ancient Greek and Etruscan port history of the area. The Po Delta regional park landscape is nearby toward the east, but the immediate surroundings are inland plain rather than the lagoon and dune edge. The area is known for river embankments, drainage works and broad arable farmland.
