This is the lower Po plain, with flat agricultural land and drainage canals around the city. The Adige runs west of Rovigo and the Po branches and wetlands of the Delta are farther south, outside the immediate 15 km landscape. Rovigo is the nearest town of size and has the usual services and a historic centre with churches and civic buildings. The area is known for arable farming in the Polesine plain.
