Within a few kilometres is the Valle dei Nuraghi landscape, with a high concentration of nuraghi and the necropolis of Sant'Andrea Priu cut into the rock near Bonorva. The Tirso valley lies nearby and the countryside is a mix of open grazing land, cereal fields and low rocky plateaus. Macomer is the nearest larger centre in daily use, with rail links and the main services for this part of the interior. The area is known for Nuragic and prehistoric archaeology and for pastoral inland Sardinia.
