Casa Indipendente

This is inland northwestern Sardinia on the limestone hills between Sassari and the Nurra plain. The area is cut by small valleys and low karst ridges rather than high mountains. Within this radius the nearest large town is Sassari, which has a substantial historic centre, services and rail connections. The Gulf of Asinara coast is outside the immediate area but affects daily life from here, with the beaches around Porto Torres and Argentiera reached by a moderate drive. This part of Sardinia is known for olive groves, grazing land and nuraghi in the surrounding countryside.
