Much of the mountainside above Albosaggia is inside the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi. The nearest town of size is Sondrio, which has the province’s main services and a substantial historic centre. The area is known for terraced vineyards on the Valtellina slopes and for mountain valleys opening toward the Bernina and Stelvio sectors farther east.
