The Mallero di Lanzada runs through the valley and the Campo Moro and Alpe Gera reservoirs are within the comune, with the glacial basin around Campo Franscia nearby. This is part of the Valmalenco mountain area on the edge of the Bernina massif, and the route up-valley leads directly to the high mountain landscape below Pizzo Scalino and the Disgrazia group. The nearest ski lifts are in the Valmalenco ski area around Caspoggio and Chiesa in Valmalenco, roughly 15 to 25 minutes by road depending on the hamlet. Sondrio is the nearest town of size, with rail services, shops and hospitals, about half an hour down the valley. The area is known for alpine hiking, climbing, ski mountaineering and for stone from Valmalenco, including serpentine.
