The nearest ski area is Aprica, about 20 minutes by road, with larger skiing at Chiesa in Valmalenco farther up the valley. Tirano is the nearest larger town, with rail services including the Bernina line into Switzerland and the main services of the middle valley. Teglio is known in Lombardy for pizzoccheri and for the Valtellina wine landscape.
