The Adda runs through this part of the valley floor, and the terraced slopes of Valtellina viticulture are part of the local landscape. Stelvio National Park begins nearby on the mountain side above the valley toward the upper Valtellina. The nearest ski areas are around Aprica at roughly 20 minutes by road and Bormio at about 40 minutes, but they are outside the immediate 15 km radius.
