The Adda runs along the floor of the Valtellina nearby. Teglio sits on the terraced slope above the valley and this part of Valtellina is known for stone-built hill villages, vineyard terraces and alpine views. The nearest ski area is Aprica, about 20 minutes by road, with larger skiing at Chiesa in Valmalenco farther up the valley. Tirano is the nearest larger town, with rail services including the Bernina line into Switzerland and the main services of the middle valley.
