Location score 78/100The cluster sits in the Valtellina with the Bernina Alps and the Orobie Alps forming the valley sides. The Adda runs along the floor of the valley below Teglio. A large part of the south side of this section of valley is inside the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi. Aprica and its ski lifts are the nearest substantial ski area, reached in about 20 minutes by road, and the Valmalenco lifts above Chiesa in Valmalenco are also within practical reach in roughly 40 minutes. Tirano is the nearest town of size; it has rail connections including the Bernina line into Switzerland and the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Tirano. Teglio is known for terraced vineyards and for pizzoccheri, and the historic centre has palazzi and churches linked to the old Grisons route through the valley.
